I want one!

This reminds me of an entrepreneur story when I was young... wish I had thought this one up...

There was this development with starter townhomes... the front yards were literally postage stamps (20' x 20')... and there was something like 15 or 20 of them in a row...
So the young enterprising lad... decided to work out a lawn maintenance deal: He offered to mow, edge, and blow each yard for a ridiculously low price...
Of course, nobody could get one yard done for that price, and one could not even own yard equipment for that price.
So the young lad got the deal...
So first he takes his gas powered string trimmer and edges... then he gets a riding lawn mower with a grass bag... rides down the whole length and back a few passes (grass catcher gets the lions share of the edging clippings)... then a blow... and he is done.
Not a bad hustle for a young kid...

A few years back my son and I started a landscaping company to maintain foreclosed properties for a bank. Mind you, the bank set the price and gave us about 250 lots to maintain. It was a lot of work for an old man but I have to say it was worth every hour. Not only did the son and I have some good times together but it also gave him a chance to learn some valuable business lessons and we made enough to pay for his first year of college, including room and board. It lasted about two years until the economy improved, now most of the lots are occupied dwellings which I'm actually happy to see.
