I just got back from the Harbor Freight store in Douglasville.

When we lived in Woodstock, my husband became ->> :love :love with the one there. He still makes a pilgrimage from time to time. Might be more palatable than Douglasville. :)) :))
 
And, the love affair is over.

I bought a mig welder there last night. Great price, it was supposedly a return that had been fully checked out and refurbished. After spending about $50 on electrical stuff to run a 230 volt circuit for it, I plugged it in only to find that it didn't work.

I took it back to the store and spoke with the manager, told him I felt that his personnel had misrepresented it as refurbished because it had clearly not been checked out, and asked for some pricing help on a replacement unit since I was already out some time and money, as well as a return trip to the store. He had a "it's not my problem" attitude and told he he could either give me my money back or a credit toward a new welder at full price. I told him to give me my money back and he could keep his stuff, that I wouldn't be back. I also e-mailed corporate, we'll see if I get a response from them.

Disappointing to deal with folks like that. Doubt that I will be visiting there.
 
Discount stores have no sense of customer service anymore and I seldom waste my time with them.
 
Sorry, but everything I've bought from there has been total crap. Northern Tool is much better JMHO .

Update

I fired off an e-mail to customer service, telling them what happened. I received a response this morning that seemed sincere; they want to send me a gift card and have someone in another department contact me.

We'll see how it turns out.
