Son is an Ingles CSM. It’s a mess. They are trying to do an emergency contract to get ATMs in the stores. Stock is ok because they are only doing 25% of normal business due to the cash only, but no trucks until late this week at the earliest. They are trying to get Vendor direct drops where they can. A textbook case of all your eggs in one Asheville basket. . The video above is the main and pretty much only warehouse l.
She's right on one thing, it's not necessarily BAD people but DESPERATE people...and desperate people are capable of doing desperate things. I pray for all those affected and for all the people with good intentions that are offering assistance. It could happen to any community without much notice.

You are right... it is a one time grant per refugee of $2125 (per family member). Family of 6 gets $12,750.
The $2,125 figure did not refer to a monthly payment to assist refugees directly. It referred to a one-time grant to resettlement agencies for each refugee, a portion of which can be used to fund housing and basic necessities during refugees’ first few months in the U.S.
After those first few months, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement works with states and other non-governmental organizations to provide other financial aid in the form of Refugee Cash Assistance and Refugee Medical Assistance, as well as other social services.
So, Americans who just lost everything get $750... make it make sense.
Plus refugees continue to get healthcare paid for by the government. I know this because I had an employee who would not work overtime, or he would lose his government provided 100% paid for healthcare for his family of 5 ... even though our company provided Kaiser if he paid for 25%. He had been in the USA for FIVE years already! And this was before Newsom declared all immigrants got free healthcare.
In Kalifornia I have seen up close more than you will see in the mountains of Georgia. We have refugees sent in an UBER to our hotel with cash to pay for a pre booked hotel room, because we are near the airport. They have a flight out the next morning. It is usually 5 or 6 people, they pay cash for the room, no luggage, brand new clothing, and have a government provided plane ticket on commercial airlines...
I know people who work at the hotels who have refugees... I have all sorts of interesting stories... it is sick what our tax dollars are paying for... so yeah... make it make sense!
Remember now the illegal aliens just file on a phone and are granted refugees status... the reason all the FEMA money is gone... none left for this, or future disasters this year.

You do know there is a distinct difference between an illegal immigrant and a refugee don't you? Your meme was addressing illegals getting these cards while Helene victims were getting far less. We all know what will happen in regards to FEMA's finances. Congress will allocate more money to them. But this is a perfect example of how Congress needs to have oversight on how federal departments are spending money. There has to be accountability and there has to be consequences that go along with it.
In the military, you see them spending money wisely and more responsibly in the first three quarters of the fiscal year. In the fourth quarter, they go nuts spending it, often on things they don't need. The reason is if they save $10M, they believe their budgets will be reduced by that amount for the new FY. Here we are in a new FY that started two days ago and once again we start a fiscal year without a budget. This is the fault of both political parties.

Last I heard from one of out Regional Revenue managers who lives in Tennessee and works remotely, things were dire and no help had come to help their town.
Roads were gone, they have a generator, lived up higher, so they did not flood, but they don't know how long they can keep going. They can drive down to what is left in town, but it is all dirt, no real roads left, and as time goes on the stores will run out of supplies if roads are not open again.
My revenue manager, (San Diego Based) is trying to fill in for him (he is her boss.) I'll hear next Wednesday what is going on. We have a conference call every Wednesday.
