This was a quick one.

The main speakers for the P/A system had gotten a little tired, I think I drove them too hard at a couple of outdoor events. I upgraded the compression drivers (tweeters) awhile back, but now it's time to put better woofers in them.

So I order a couple of 15" pro woofers from Parts Express. I removed the old ones, upgraded the small factory wiring from the crossover to the woofers with 12 gauge, and installed the new woofers. Wow what a difference in sound!

You might can see why below. Old on the left, new on the right. Water bottle in th elast picture for scale. These babies are YUGE!

Looks like the new ones have a slightly bigger magnet.

Not that being bigger means anything ....

The second pic got reversed. The one with the small magnet is the old one.

It doesn't have to, but in this case it does. The stock ones were made to be lightweight. That's nice, but I'm willing to sacrifice some of that for more umph. And man did I get it.

OK, I have them back on the stands. Underneath are 18" powered subs.

We can make some noise!!
