As you guys know by now, I'm an audiophile of sorts. My 7:1 home theater sounded great, but "She who adores me" didn't like all the speakers mounted on the walls for the side and rear surround.

So I found a deal on these ceiling speakers and bought four of them. 8" coaxials with a pivoting tweeter. They sound great and they blend in nicely with the ceiling.

Looks good!

I'm not a fan of the flush ceiling speakers. Nothing against the technology, I know they can match the corner mounted units. I just like to see what is making the sound ... don't want anything sneaking up on me.

The are Micca brand. I found them on Amazon.com (I buy a lot from there) and they are a little known brand that had excellent reviews. So I gave them a try and so far I'm impressed. They were $35 each. The name brands are usually over $100 each.

I would rather have big box speakers all around too, but that can be a problem with both space and aesthetics.I'm keeping my Klipsch front and center speakers, but these are working great for the surround.

I think I'm gonna order a couple more for our dressing area. "She who adores me" and I like to jam in the mornings while getting ready.

That's pretty cool. When I redo my floors upstairs, I was thinking about removing the subfloor in my bedroom so I could have access to install speakers in my family room ceiling.
