"Government Free" High Tech Incubator in International Waters is a step closer t

Blueseed, a floating high tech incubator concept is nearing reality. The team announced that there are over 100 companies signed up to board the concept. Blueseed is a modified cruise ship which will rent equipped office and living space for about $3,000 per person per month. That fee includes access to Silicon Valley's best and brightest, as well as the normal equipment needed by a tech start-up.

The biggest draw beyond the collaborative atmosphere, however, is that no work visa will be required for access, and it is assumed, no US taxes will be due since the entire operation can be conducted offshore. The difficulty in obtaining US work visas was the driving factor in Blueseed's development. The tax situation is currently being reviewed. It will probably wind up in court.

Interesting idea, but you know the folks in DC will never let them go untaxed.
If not directly by the IRS, it will be indirectly through some form of import tariffs/fees even if the product is of an intellectual property.

Washington's laws causing more outsourcing?

Surely not. :whistle
Actually in this case, it's stopping other countries from outsourcing to the US. Only about 1/3 of the companies signed up are US based. The other 2/3 would like to conduct their business here in the US, but are unable to obtain work visa's for their principals or have encountered other Governmental obstacles. Silicon Valley has attracted the world's best and brightest entrepreneurs for 2 decades now. Unfortunately, US policy prevents these job creators from actually entering the US to create those jobs.
