Florida bill to criminalize exotic dancing for those under 21 sent to Gov. DeSantis' desk

I don't know where DeSantis stands on it.

Interesting that their general assembly felt this was big enough of an issue to pass a bill about it. While I won't condone the act or patronizing it, seems like there are bigger fish to fry.
 
It is bills like this that Republicans should avoid. Republicans are supposed to be about limited government...this is not an example of limited government.
 
This applies to employees not patrons as I read it. It is an attempt to curb explotation of minors/young adults. I think he will sign it.
 
We need to make up our minds, is 18 an adult or 21 and stick to it. I mean the GOP is arguing that 18 is mature enough to purchase semi-auto weapons and have sex with someone, but not mature enough to decide if they should show their body off on stage?

Heck, those who have the technical know how will go on Only Fans and make a LOT more money that on stage.

Agree with cptlo on this one, not an example of limited government.
 
I understand the sentiment, but would have to vote against it.

I knew a couple of girls in high school who would go out to illegal strip clubs in the boonies,
and that life is extremely destructive. But here we are talking adults and it's still a free country.

(As the parent of a gorgeous teenage aspiring actress daughter, OF scares the crap out of me.
Luckily we have raised her modest family values, and she is not that type of girl.
But I can see where the lure of fame and big money can be very seductive...)
