Dishwasher Mystery

Does it occur when it is raining? If not probably condensation since it seems to happen when the dryer is in use. You can seal the opening better where the surrounding air is mixing with the heated pipe. You can insulate the vent pipe. You can replace with double walled vent pipe. You can install a dehumidifier in the area if it is condensate from the interior air. Out of these suggestions the double walled pipe is the best fix but also the most dollar/labor intensive. Oh yeah you can hang your clothes on a clothesline also. Good luck.

Thanks! It wasn't raining so it must be condensation. I've got someone scheduled to come take a look next week. Thanks everyone.

Oh yeah, the "straight single handy woman" question still stands. :D

I am still waiting on a picture so I can decorate your kitchen. I :emoji_hearts:spending other peoples money. :p When are we buying? :D

Possible dumb question....is it typical that most granite/quartz countertop companies don't employ plumbers to reconnect everything after the countertop is installed? The couple that I've called all work this way and state that I have to get a plumber to do that after the install. Seems odd to me.

Probably the norm. They don't want the liability.

'Course, I'd so it myself.

I'm thinking black quartz for countertop and backsplash like the one in this picture. Does this meet with your approval @ShoeDiva?

We are getting a stone countertop put in the kitchen next week. A friend that does this work professionally (for hotels and such) is doing the install.

Several people we talked to said to stay away from the dark/black stones. Very hard to keep clean, you almost have to wipe it down, then clean it with windex to keep the streaks from showing. YMMV.

Ours is going to me a lighter color mix, the wife picked out the slabs last week. Layout below.

Oh crap...I didn't think about it being harder to keep black countertops clean..... That design looks nice.

We have black granite counter tops and I LOVE it, but it is as pain in the booty to keep looking clean and shiny.
It gets "cloudy" looking and you have to really keep it wiped down.

That sure looks clean and calm.... I like it.

Since you don't cook much, and the counter top is small maybe it would not matter... but I think black car, black counter top... dust, dirt, and haze shows more than on a light surface like white, or one with a pattern.
