Didn't the mayor of Portland say the violence would stop once federal police left?

It appears the violent riot has intensified since the federal police withdrew from Portland. Anarchists barricaded the doors to a police precinct building then broke a window, tossed in an accelerant and started a fire. Sounds familiar to what they were attempting to do at the federal court building when they tossed balloons filled with kerosene and shot fireworks for the purpose of setting the building afire.

So what does the Portland mayor have to say about this attempt to burn down the police precinct building? “When you commit arson with an accelerant in an attempt to burn down a building that is occupied by people who you have intentionally trapped inside, you are not demonstrating, you are attempting to commit murder,"

What a damn hypocrite. When they were shining laser lights in the eyes of federal police officers, firing fireworks at the officers and attempting to set the court building on fire; were they not attempting to kill the federal police? It appears the mayor doesn't believe the lives of federal officers lives matter. Both the mayor and Oregon's governor have demonstrated they really don't care about business owners and the safety of residents in Portland. I hope the people in Oregon wake up and elect a conservative governor and those in Portland elect a conservative mayor. Both of these elected officials have shown that when you elect liberals; especially those that have gone way to the far left; you get chaos and destruction.

Portland, Ore. Mayor Ted Wheeler Thursday evening harshly condemned the actions of rioters who attempted to set fire to a police precinct and blocked the exits while officers were inside.

I'm just sitting back waiting for when that city becomes the new Detroit. The property owners and business owners will eventually abandon the city, especially when insurance premiums skyrocket or coverage is not available.

Unfortunately a large percentage of our young people have been brainwashed to believe that socialism is a fantastic thing and works when put into practice. They aren't taught it has failed everywhere it has been practiced. How many times have we seen any news reports about Venezuela in the news lately? Before the primaries, there were news reports almost daily on how bad things are there. The MSM keeps it out of the news because those reports would show the left's progressive agenda is bad for the country.

You're right that a lot of younger people are brainwashed.

But there are stronger emotions, and fear is one of them. While it won't be a huge percentage, there will be at least a small chunk who will be turned off by the Democrats' being soft on crime and failing to keep their people safe.

A few here and a few there is what will decide this election.
