Crock pot again!

I saw a recipe in Pinterest yesterday that looked interesting. So, we're having it for dinner tonight. I have a feeling I wont like it, but it smells heavenly!

1 pot roast (chuck)
1 pack of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
1 pack McCormicks Au Juis mix
1 stick of butter
5 pepperoni peppers

Cook on low for 8 hours. So easy! I'm roasting carrots and onions later and making mash potatoes. I'm looking forward to the veggies, but I'm afraid the meat is going to be super salty. And that's a lot of butter. I'll let y'all know how it is!

What are pepperoni peppers? :dunno
Idk. I didn't catch autocorrect. LOL pepperoncini peppers.

OH, DUH!! Sorry, my brain's autocorrect didn't work either - I just stared at it and wondered what pepperoni peppers were. Even googled it...

Stupid autocorrect! Lol

Okay, in case y'all wanted to know - this turned out really good! I made gravy with the juices (just added some cornstarch and whisked in the pot after removing te meat). It was a bit spicey for me, but MrB loved it!

Next time, I'll use about half the butter and maybe toss in some water.

The veggies were yum! I don't know why I've never done this. I just tossed a tiny bit of EVOO with the veggies, a bit of Kosher salt and pepper and a bit of parsley and roasted them on a cookie sheet at 425 for 30 mins. Best ever.

Sounds yummy. My last Pinterest recipe wasn't such a hit. The family didn't like what I did to those yummy pork chops. Oops. :whistle They aren't fond of meats cooked in gravy and my son doesn't like meat and vegetables cooked together. That eliminates a lot of crock pot recipes.

I'm glad to hear this. I pinned it, too, so I wanted to know. :thumbsup

I don't have much at all! Most of the pinning I do now is on my phone. I like it better that way, because I can't chase rabbits as I go from blog to blog to blog to....

I told my husband the other day that it's about time I actually find time to DO some of the things I've pinned! :laugh

I always worry about too salty too when I see those package mixes in a recipe. Sometimes I just try to substitute the spices that are on the mix ingred leaving out so much salt. Your recipe sounds really good tho!

I do this to my vegs all the time especially in the winter. I have learned to like several vegs this way. It just tastes so good and is extra easy!

It was bit much butter in the gravy, but the meat was great. It wasn't salty or greasy. I was suprised.

Me too! I normally don't cook stuff like this, because I try not to use a lot of "packaged" stuff (if that makes sense). But this looked interesting and wry easy. Ad after reading all te reviews on the blog I decided to try it. I do not do salty things.

So the pepperoncinis (No auto correct here) weren't "tasted" in the roast? hmmm... I can try that then. I just thought is sounded a bit weird.

You should try brussel sprouts roasted. I DO NOT like them. But I roasted some last week and O.M.G. they were so freakin' good!!! Just cut them in half and roast them the same way. I like mine a bit crispy so it may have taken a bit longer. YUM!!!

I love Brussel sprouts! I hadn't thought to do that! The peppers didn't make the roast spicey, but the gravey was. I don't like spicey stuff.
