Frankly, I'm not a big fan of iPhones. While they are good devices, I prefer one that doesn't lock me down so much, which is why I'm an Android guy.
But I have some issues with this. Timing is everything, and the reality is, Microsoft and Amazon were late to the game in the area of phones. I liked the Windows phone, but the apps and support just wasn't there. iPhone and Android already owned the market by then, and neither MS nor Amazon put the investment and infrastructure in place to compete.
