Well, you gotta admin that the GOP didn't exactly jump all over Trump for his Tweets about them either.

If you try to piss people off, you can't be surprised when they react.

He needs to grow up a little, but doubtful it's gonna happen at this late date. However, it could lose him the election by pushing away the independent voters considering him out of control. (Or Bipolar)

He's not running against any of the group of 4.

He'll be running against one of the 20 Democrats currently in the running for President. If they look semi-normal and he looks like a raving lunatic, he'll lose. He started this crap with a ill advised Tweet. As GD said, he needs to stop the Drama on his part. I don't think the Dems will be able to stop, so they will be the ones that look out of control.
 
Problem is, the drama has worked for Trump. It keeps him in the news and many of his super faithful like it.

Though I mostly approve of Trump's job performance, I have never cared for the drama.

I think Trump calling them out is helping him and hurting the Democratic Party. I read an article earlier today that voters who are 50 and older are the largest demographic to vote this next election cycle. That demographic is also the most likely to go to the polls and vote. The vast majority of this demographic opposes socialism and right now the Democratic hopefuls have been completely ignoring them. As long as the media keeps focusing on the Democrats defending the four very radical Democratic congresswomen from Trump's attacks, the more the older demographic will turn away from the Democratic presidential hopefuls. Trump knows what he's doing.

However, he's attacking the new Generation, not the ones he's running against. There are plenty of socialists in the dems candidates, why not attack them directly? Let AOC and the rest self destruct on their own. It's likely that they won't be there next term.

Also, the 50+ Generation also remembers the cold war and having stability on the hand that controls the nukes will always be more on their mind than these younger generations that never have seen a "Duck and Cover" drill. To be honest, I'm really kind of surprised the left hasn't pushed more on that subject. (Granted, the 2 man rule *should* remove most of the concern, however, Trump *has* tended to surround himself with people who won't disagree with him, so I'm not sure that he *couldn't* browbeat someone into certifying a launch against say, Iran, if they attacked a carrier) 50+ also remembers when government leaders were respectful (at least in public) to each other and may see his attacks as something to avoid. He needs the independent vote as well as his base to win.

He has plenty of time to attack any of the Democratic presidential hopefuls. When he attacks any of the four freshmen and those candidates defend them, they are hurting themselves in the race because they are showing the largest demographic they are embracing socialism. Look at how many of the Democratic presidential field has included much of AOCs platform in their campaigns - even Biden. The largest demographic sees that and it's working against the Democratic field. Trump is doing a good job pointing that out.

I think he took their bait and reacted in typical Trump fashion. I think this time it was a mistake and will be used on the campaign trail against him.
 
They were calling him racist before these stupid tweets and would have every chance they get anyway. He should step away from the twitter machine at times though. Or have someone else read the tweets before posting them.

Polls show the majority of voters oppose impeachment, to include independents. Pelosi didn't want this to pass because it would have killed the Dems in the swing districts they barely won. Losing those seats would cost them the majority in the House. Hell, they will probably lose them anyway.
