Good article

Interesting. Mostly liberals and RINOs, with just a couple of exceptions. It's hard to tell what they assume may happen.

Personally I think that Trump will be impeached if he doesn't step down. I am not, however, at all convinced that he will be convicted in the Senate as long as it is a closely divided body. The Democrat "leadership" is nothing but a front for the DSA and couldn't give a crap about the Constitution. The Republican "leadership" is an instrument of mercantilism and power consolidation and view the Constitution as something to be used as a club or to be ignored as it suits them. Neither is concerned with preserving our Republic, only their own power. They have plotted two diametrically opposed courses for this country that ironically lead to the same disasterous conclusion.

I lost interest just after reading “bipartisan” then 32 Dems, 10 rep, and 2 liberals.

IMO...

Being impeached does not mean anything... other than media hype.

The Senate is NOT gonna support it... PERIOD

And if the left thinks they are gonna get someone to run on the DEM platform and defeat Trump...
Well they are living in loonyland!

They could run a moderate candidate and sweep the floor with Trump, but a moderate candidate can no longer win a national Democratic primary. Just look at the latest photogenic Socialist that they want to trot out, and she hasn't even heard her first gavel yet.

They had a good moderate last time in Jim Webb. But he never had a chance with the Dem leadership.

Respectfully... I disagree...

The backing Trump has in the working class... as well as blacks, hispanics, orientals, etc... is a LOT larger than folks realize.
Folks who 'walked away' from the DEMS.

However I am not gonna start a discussion...
Not good for the Hiway to get too into politics.

Now if anyone wants to get serious about a heated discussion...
I can give you a link to a public forum (must register)...
Where we can get down and dirty...
As long as it stays G rated and nobody threatens anyone else.

Gonna keep the Hiway clean and polite!

What would be fun to watch, is a house battle between Ocasio-Cortez and Nancy P Looney for the speakers job,,, get a bunch of Reps and Dems to quietly back Ocsia-Cotez and watch the fur fly. I have to believe the youngster would learn her place in congress real quick!!!

Now I realize this would not happen...

However I would LOVE for Ms Cortez to win that battle!
Make the DEM party the laughing stock of the nation and media.
And the MSM would have to find a whole new agenda...
Talk about self inflicted destruction!

Even the hardened liberals at a few of the more outspoken forums...
Would cringe and back away from that one!

Yeah, he and Chaffee washed out almost immediately. Both were known moderates and both had executive experience. When you consider the fact that Bernie was Hillary's opposition, you can see where the party is headed.

Sometimes... it almost seems the DEMS wanted Trump to win...
That way... Trump could fix the stuff the DEMS preach against... (knowing if their platform went on indefinitely, the country would fail).
Then the DEMS could get back in power years later and go back to pillage and plunder the country.

The repeat the pendulum swing...

Sounds crazy... however sometimes I wonder...

Remember that Trump's election was more of a slap at the Republican power structure that that of the Democrats. Conservative voters were attempting to tell the National party to do their job. The Congress had a majority that they weren't using (Obamacare, the deficit, etc...) and they appeared cowed by the President. People were saying "grow a pair". Trump beat the Republican Party, Hillary lost the election to him. She was a horrible candidate who failed to inspire both the Democratic base and the independent voters.

And I doubt the Democrats will make the same mistake and nominate her again.

I agree that the voters were sending a message to the GOP: 'get off your @$$ and get things done'...

OTOH... the circles I am associated with... have had for years, a growing distrust for EVERYONE that has been in office for a term or more.

I think perhaps a close second would be the voters telling the WHOLE establishment: 'listen to us... or we will send you packing'

If it were not for the criminal action of literally STEALING a significant number of midterm seats... Trump would have had control of both houses of congress...
Would have been interesting to see what he could have gotten done... if he did not have to spend a significant amount of energy fighting with corrupt criminals in elected offices.

Not her, but perhaps a candidate who is just as toxic. They appear to be leaning so far left as to trip over a nakedly socialist agenda. I don't think that socialism is as attractive to the entire country as it is to the vocal left. If a moderate candidate appears who can woo the younger voters, Trump is in trouble. I don't believe the black vote will be a huge turnout for the Democrats in 2020 unless they run a black candidate again. There will be that 20% who decide most general elections in play.

I think the DEMS are gonna try to 'rebrand' themselves as moderates over the next year...

Try to paint the image that the right is too radical and dangerous for the average person...
That sanity and safety demands a change to a middle/road govt.
In reality... what they are saying is: give us power!
And we know what happens when we give power to the left...
NEVER fails... we get LESS freedom and MORE taxes.

I don't. They no longer try to hide their Socialism, they are in our faces about it.

And sadly, there's a large segment of our population who is buying it.

I hope you are right...

Because that more or less guarantees the 'right' will prevail for a while...
The GOP would have control of the house... were it not for the outright criminal cheating the DEMS did.
I just hope something is done about election fraud before 2020.

My fear is the left will 'rebrand' themselves as moderates and fool the weak minded/willed into thinging"
This time it will be different...

Hope you are right!

I disagree, due to the fact that our education system has inculcated our school children for the past 27 plus years, that socialism is the right thing.

The schools focused on teaching how evil America has been in our 200 plus year history, framing it that the evil Constitutional Republic has been a horrible global citizen. As those young adults go to the poles, they are shifting our country to socialism just as the progressives had planned.

The younger generation get their political opinion from late night TV hosts, hollywood actors, and glamour magazines. They don't understand economics, what our constitution was put in place to protect, or the potential problems with a few in power capable of taxing a greater percentage of your earnings (0bama Care) to determine what choices you have in your life.

The idea of freedom is now taken for granted. Most have grown up under the 911 terrorism shift of America giving up our freedom to be "safe."

This is just the start.

I know the pendulum swings... from Obama we got Trump.

From Carter we got Regan.

Has the pendulum swung? No. The past 3 decades of education have taught the population to focus on feelings, not facts, therefore the US will be pushed to socialism, because everyone is owed housing, healthcare, food, happiness, a college education. Who pays for that? Ms. Cortez, Bernie, et al say the country shall take from the productive citizens to provide all this for the rest of the disadvantaged citizens. Like Ms Cortez, they have not figured out why no one is owed any of this. It is available if they work for it, however as more taxation occurs, no one will have it. Only government workers, then later only the dictator politicians... Venezuela here we come. Very sad.
