I just found out today that a man I worked with for years at a previous employer passed away last month. I am really feeling blue about the whole situation. Firstly just finding out bummed me out because I would have went to the funeral or at least the visitation out of respect. Secondly he was a really good man. We argued often and I was a smart ass punk when we worked together but I had a deep respect for him and he knew it. He was a very good technician, irritating as hell sometimes but a very sharp dude. Over the years he went his way and I went mine but anytime I ran into him he had a big ole grin on his face and shook my hand. He would say you are going to make something out of yourself one day kid. Did I mention he was a very good family man and a pillar of his local church. We worked in some horrible conditions at times (fiberglass plants, brick plants, rendering plants, paper mills, asphalt plants, etc.) but I never saw him get upset or utter a cuss word. I will miss my old friend. Goodbye mike and Godspeed my old buddy.
