Paying descendants reparations for their ancestors having been slaves is a moronic idea and nothing more than political pandering to blacks from the left. It would cost trillions of dollars to pay for and it's money the government doesn't have. How would you even determine who would receive the reparations? Both Obama and Hillary opposed slavery reparations, but it's picking up more steam as the Democratic Party moves further and further to the extreme left.

Danny Glover testified at the hearing and justified slavery reparations with some descendants of Civil War veterans are receiving pension benefits. I found one, an 86-year old North Carolina woman who is the daughter of a Civil War veteran. Her father received the pension as a veteran of the Union Army. She receives $73 a month from his pension. The law states the pension ends upon her death. Glover is comparing apples to oranges using this as a narrative to justify slavery reparations. Once this woman passes away, the pension stops.

In 2014, there were fewer than 35 sons and daughters of Civil War veterans (both Union and Confederacy) on the rolls of heritage groups tracking them. That number is probably half that today. https://news.nationalgeographic.com...erans-day-150-anniversary-civil-war-memories/
